Responsibilities

Process and document samples.

Analyze bulk and thin-section slides for asbestos fibers using PLM (Polarized Light Microscopy).

Determine optical properties and visual percentages of detected asbestos grains.

Quantify asbestos content and identify other sample components.

Record findings in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Ensure quality control procedures are followed.

Adhere to lab safety protocols and EPA standards for asbestos identification.

Qualifications

Bachelorâ s degree in Geology, Environmental Sciences, related science, or PLM(Polarized Light Microscopy) Asbestos training course

At-least 2 years of PLM experience in asbestos testing

Adhere to lab safety protocols, including proper use of fume hoods, personal protective equipment (PPE), and sample containment.

Be willing to work extended hours and occasional weekends when necessary

Salary: $90K-$110K
