Shift: Monday - Friday 9:00AM - 6:00PM (Some flexibility may be required)

Hours/FTE: 40hrs/Week 1.0 FTE

Expected Starting Salary Range: $28.15 - $35.98

SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Care and supervision of multiple children in a child care setting, whose ages range from six weeks to kindergarten.

Scope: Provides leadership to a team

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

People Planning and Performance

Provides day to day work direction to staff. Conduct ongoing evaluation and mentoring of direct reports, including effective, clear, and timely annual performance evaluation. Ensure staff is properly trained to perform job functions. Determine and monitor implementation of continuing education goals of the department and provide educational opportunities for department staff. Ensure departmental and Medical Center priorities and policies are effectively communicated and understood by staff.

Team Leadership

Provide supervision and coaching to staff in delivering services to CCHMC families. Review and provide feedback to staff on classroom management, written communications and prepared materials. Maintains and facilitates compliance with all state and local regulatory requirements.

Program Management

Guide age-appropriate programming which addresses individual, small and large group needs. Suggest related activities and growth opportunities in language, art, music, science, math and gross and fine motor movement. Assure activities are safe and success-oriented. Design, develop, implement and maintain child care programs aligned with employee and organizational needs. Recommends the development and maintenance of policies and practices in support of department processes.

Financial Management

Assist with fiscal responsibilities of the department as requested. Monitor budget expenditures; identify and research variances/problems. Assist in tracking and monitoring expense and allocations.

Compliance

Accurately completes required Child and Adult Care Food Program (or CACFP) documentation, follows rules for food service, and attends CACFP training as necessary.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Bachelor's degree in a related field

3-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline

First Aid Certification

Unique Skills:

Child Abuse Recognition

Certified in the recognition of child abuse and neglect
