Under the direction of the Chief Pharmacy Officer, this position provides leadership and accountability for the business and supply chain aspects of the Pharmacy Enterprise which include but are not limited to business operations and strategic direction of pharmacy finance, the 340B program, supply chain, revenue cycle, contract management, business analytics, productivity management, budgeting and benchmarking. Through the development of a comprehensive strategic plan, the Director will develop and execute strategies and relationships to manage comprehensive pharmaceutical spend and revenue enhancement, which include but are not limited to relationships with GPOs, wholesalers, pharmaceutical vendors and payors. In conjunction with the Chief Managed Care Officer, the Director will develop and execute payor contracting strategies that will maximize pharmacy revenue and minimize the impact of payor pressure in the pharmacy space.

This position can be further summarized as follows:

Provides proactive and strategic oversight of all 340B Drug Pricing Program operations to maintain compliance and optimize performance

Leads the system-wide efforts in pharmacy operations including managing relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, contracting and purchasing, drug utilization review, and pharmacy revenue cycle management

Optimizes departmental expenses (drug, salary, capital, supplies, services, etc.) and revenues through clinical and operational interventions (in all pharmacy areas of OSUWMC)

Supervises pharmaceutical purchasing patterns to identify opportunities for improved utilization inventory control, and contracting

Serves as the contact for the conduct of university wide auditing of pharmacy services (e.g., Internal Audit
