As the Corporate Recruiter for our Maintenance team, you will be responsible for full-cycle recruiting and hiring for all Dayton Freight Shop locations.
Responsibilities
Manage full-life cycle recruiting for Shop roles including developing successful recruitment strategies, sourcing & screening candidates, participating in onsite interviews, soliciting feedback, and extending/negotiating offers
Develop, implement and facilitate the Apprenticeship recruiting program
Analyze current recruiting processes and make recommendations for improvement
Responsible for the full pipeline interview and hiring process in iCIMS for all Maintenance requisitions
Identify local career centers and colleges to establish and maintain candidate pipeline via research analysis
Create and implement long and short-term business objectives relating to recruiting Shop personnel
Exercise discretion to allocate company dollars to job postings and advertisements
Utilize independent judgment to move candidates forward in selection process
Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and qualifications required for open positions and recommend candidates for hire
Develop and maintain data reports and performance metrics to drive improvements
Develop and source a strong pipeline of candidates using a variety of methods including social media, job boards, LinkedIn, Indeed, employee referrals, search agencies, etc.
Be able to make decisions and prioritize on behalf of the Region Maintenance and Shop Managers
Use independent judgment to prepare for and attend Technician-facing career fairs and presentations
Develop an understanding of Operational and Shop functions and terminology
Work with Recruiting team to post and recruit Technician Interns and Trainees
Coordinate and facilitate open interviews, interview candidates and determine eligibility to move forward
Plan and facilitate cadenced meetings with Shop Managers to communicate progress and priorities
Availability to interview candidates outside of normal business hours
Assist with other recruiting tasks and projects as needed
Document processes and procedures of job functions
Communicate with internal and external customers in a professional and positive manner
Continuously improve processes
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
2 years of full-cycle recruiting experience
Experience recruiting qualified Mechanics, preferred
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to establish effective and cooperative working relationships built on trust
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Comfortable making decisions independently
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of interview techniques and applicant screening methods
Self-starter, able to work in a team and independently
