CMM Inspector

Position Overview:

The Inspector is responsible to provide documented objective evidence of inspection status. Inspectors support production, management and customer interaction, when required. Inspectors report directly to the Inspection Supervisor.

$26/hr - $35/hr DOE

Duties and Responsibilities:

Understand inspection requirements as established through the RTC/Cliffdale Mfg. Manufacturing Order

Ability to complete documents, such as rejection tags, corrective actions and any records in the support of objective evidence as it pertains to the quality initiatives required within the internal quality system requirements

Develops and executes CMM Programming using current inspection software.

Performs and verifies visual, dimensional, mechanical, and chemical inspection functions, relating to: source, first article, receiving, in process, final and test operations using company or customer supplied drawings, equipment and/or procedures.

Develops CMM Programs for First Article and production components

Reviews and approves inspection/test data

Reads and interprets mechanical/electrical drawings and procedures

Interfaces with customer/Government source inspection personnel

Maintains inspection records in accordance with company procedures

Understands and supports the Quality Management System

Generates and assists in the corrective/preventive action process and non-conforming material process

Must use basic/advanced measuring tools (caliper, micrometer, scopes, etc.)

Capable of routine manual dexterity, walking, sitting, standing, climbing and lifting up to 20 pounds when required

Overtime is required

Additional duties may be assigned

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

Level 1

Minimum of 2 years inspection experience in a machining/manufacturing environment

Basic shop math

Ability to read and interpret customer specifications

High school diploma/or equivalent

Ability to operate a CMM machine

Level 2

Level 1 plus

Minimum of 5 years inspection experience in a machining/manufacturing environment

Ability to set up and program a CMM with minimal supervision

Level 3

Level 1 and 2 plus

Minimum of 10 years inspection experience in a machining/manufacturing environment

Ability to program a CMM using CAD models with no supervision

Ability to create CAD models

Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience:

Experience in machining and/or aerospace industry

Knowledge of any or all of the following quality standards: MIL-I-45208A, 1SO 9001:2000, SAE AS9100, ISO:9000

CMM experience

Dimensional/surface plate experience

Micro Vue vision machine

Zeiss CMM’s using Calypso software

Work Environment:

Working conditions are normal for that of both an office and manufacturing/machine shop environment

The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and vapor from coolant, etc. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.
