Rewinder Operator

Description:

Rewinder Operator is responsible for removing defected product from press rolls utilizing the 100% inspection camera and strobe light to ensure quality product is being shipped to customer. Operator will follow all job details to ensure correct cores, label count, unwind and other specifications are completed. Boxing and palatizing product may also be required. Must have an eye for quality and be detail oriented. Operators will be required to monitor the work they produce to ensure the quality level is maintained. Requirements:

Duties/Responsibilities

· Follow direction given by department lead.

· Retrieve necessary supplies needed to complete job.

· Set-up and run rewinder according to job specifications.

· Set-up and run 100% inspection camera and strobe light.

· Remove defective product from press rolls.

· Splice finished rolls to ensure good product.

· Case finished rolls directly into boxes to be shipped.

· Finish quality work in allowed time given.

· Ability to stay organized, and work under pressure.

· Work effectively and respectfully with other departments and co-workers

· Willingness to work overtime and maintain good attendance.

· Follow and exercise a safe work environment.

· Follow all procedures and processes.

· Keep work area clean and organized.

· Perform other tasks given by manager. Education and Experience

• High school diploma, G.E.D or work experience

• Basic computer skills (navigating through programs)

• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)

• Must be fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing)

• Ability to read and use a ruler.

• Knowledge and understanding of label or printing processes is a plus.

• Willing to train the right person.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to perform this position's essential functions successfully. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to twist, bend, and stand for long periods of time. The employee must frequently use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. In addition, the employee must be able to lift 25lbs to 50lbs on a regular basis Specific vision abilities required looking at labels through a strobe light. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
