Position: Millwright
Location: Sonoco Canada - Brantford Paper
Wage: $42.07/hr
Shift: Conventional shift (Days, 8hr shift)

If you enjoy work as a Millwright; have work experience in an industrial setting, Pulp & Paper background preferably; are committed to maintaining safe work practices and continuous improvement of the workplace and are able to work independently or in a team, in all areas of a cross-trained Mill, this role may be right for you.
As the Maintenance Mechanic, you will:
be responsible to the Plant Engineer, to perform duties in the highest professional manner
work independently performing predictive and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting machinery problems and perform repairs and rebuilds as instructed
work jointly with production team to ensure equipment is in safe and efficient operational status at all times and ensure optimum utilization and process capability
be involved in the direct training of co-workers as assigned
understand and follow PPE requirements, safe electrical practices, Energy Isolation procedures and other plant safety requirements
We’d love to hear from you if:
possess Provincial Certification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)
have Grade 12 education or equivalent
have 5-10 years’ work experience in an industrial setting, pulp and paper mill background is preferred
have demonstrated mechanical skills needed for machine repairs and rebuilding
possess comprehensive knowledge of safety rules, manufacturer recommendations, OSHA regulations and general work safety practices
possess a working knowledge of PLC’s
have a valid fork lift operator/s license
demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
are proficient with computers and Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
are legally entitled to work in Canada
are able to perform physical requirements of the job
are available to work 8 hours per day, with flexibility to work extended hours and participate in an on-call rotation, (one week in every 5 weeks)
