The Elmira facility is a state of the art production facility used to manufacture synthetic lubricants and additives for lubricants, plastics and rubber. In addition to the main production facilities we have a comprehensive wastewater treatment system that is used to treat all of the process wastewater that is generated on site, and a groundwater treatment system to remove historic contaminants prior to discharge. The Elmira site is also home to a pilot plant, which is used by our scientists and engineers to develop and test new products and production processes.

Situated on 75 acres (of which 22 acres are used for operations), the manufacturing facility operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our hourly employees are represented by the United Steelworkers Union.

The West Hill facility began its operations in 1962, The first operation at the West Hill site consisted of a custom blending facility for a major Canadian oil and gas company. In 1992, the property at 565 Coronation Drive was purchased. It currently houses offices, a research and development laboratory and a finished goods warehouse.

Today, around 100 employees work at the West Hill facility where we manufacture Grease and Specialty Additives. Our grease is used to keep machinery running smoothly in food processing, manufacturing, marine, power generation and many other industries. Our Specialty Additives and lubricants are used in automotive, marine and aviation oils, transmission fluids and fuels to enhance performance and extend engine life.

Both sites (Elmira and West Hill) are registered under the ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 14001 environmental management standards.

Job Highlights

Provide engineering and technical support for capital projects, maintenance of current systems, designing new processes and optimizing existing processes to reduce costs, improve quality and reduce EHS risks.

Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and P&IDs.

Investigating and identifying root cause of incidents and provide support in categorizing, removal of nuisance alarms

Supporting/monitoring various third party contractors that will provide detailed engineering services or implement capital projects.

Analyze and recommend improvements that lead to more efficient utilization of capital and lower operating costs.

Work with production when necessary for plant troubleshooting, startups, shutdowns and plant turnarounds.

Conduct Process Hazard Analysis, safety reviews, and investigate and implement safety improvements and recommendations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. P.Eng designation is a must.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering.

Knowledge in using the SAP PM Application (or similar)

Time and project management experience, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to interact with all organization levels.

Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve critical issues, both independently and colaboratively.
