AP/AR Specialist

LHH is currently working with a company in immediate need of an experienced professional for a contract Junior Accountant position in Berkeley, CA.

Responsibilities:

Handle monthly corporate credit card expenses and address any discrepancies by coordinating with employees.

Manage the procurement and distribution of temporary youth visa cards to Program staff. On a monthly basis, generate and send a report from DocuSign to the Programs team, detailing unsigned cards.

Process applications for individual bank accounts for youth.

Generate monthly statements for youth saving accounts in our Los Angeles programs and record corresponding entries in the general ledger.

Coordinate bi-monthly payment allowances via electronic fund transfer with Program County Managers. Collaborate with Staff Accountant II to reconcile allowances.

Investigate and track any discrepancies or documentation issues related to payables.

Prepare necessary journal entries.

Assist in the preparation for government contract audits as well as the annual fiscal audit.

Serve as a backup for the Accounts Payable Specialist.

Record deposits into the accounting system, including those from government contracts, youth savings, and fundraising receipts. Collaborate with the Programs and Development teams to ensure accurate coding.

Scan and file appropriate backup documents for all deposits.

Perform weekly reconciliation of fundraising receipts to the Development department.Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an accounting position; experience with accounts payable or accounts receivable preferred.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with MIP (Sage) and Concur is a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and collaborate across different departments within the organization.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

Demonstrated aptitude for learning and a willingness to grow within the team.

Must successfully pass a Community Care Licensing background check.

Availability for occasional evening and weekend work, as well as some travel as required.

$28-30Benefits:

Pay Details: $28.00 to $30.00 per hour
