Volt is immediately hiring Sr. Mechanical Design Engineers in Poway, California!

This is a full time, contingent opportunity.

As a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer you will:

Design and develop automated semiconductor test equipment components using SolidWorks. Design and build automated machining and electromechanical systems. Work to improve existing designs and processes or expand capabilities. This role will focus on specific modules and in-chamber mechanisms.

The ideal candidate will have:

•Experience with designing mechanisms that operates in harsh temperature environment; i.e. temperature chamber

•Experience with high-speed automation design

•Able to size and select motors

•10+ years’ experience with high-speed automation and/or mechanism design using SolidWorks

•Design for cost and manufacturability is a plus

Qualifications:

Education/Training: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university. M.S. degree preferred.

Experience SolidWorks/Cosmos

Experience with machine design or automation for the semiconductor industry a plus – experience with automated test equipment such a pick-in-place a big plus.

Requires experience developing equipment that runs in a 24/7 environment.

Experience with complex electro-mechanical systems or machine design highly desirable, along with automation, robotic equipment, computer/machine vision and thermal engineering.

Pay Rate: $50.00/per hour -$75.00/per hour
