Job Title: SMT Operator

3 openings for 2nd shift and 1 opening for 1st shift

1st Shift: Mon-Thurs - 7:00am-4:30pm

2nd Shift: Mon-Thurs - 4:00pm-2:00am

Department: Production

Reports To: SMT Supervisor

Summary: The SMT Operator is responsible for loading materials into machines for production, adjusting machine speeds during production, and inspecting the objects produced. This role involves setting up the machine, performing machine adjustments, and ensuring the smooth operation of the production process in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The SMT Operator also supports quality and environmental objectives.

Job Duties / Responsibilities:

Machine Operation: Operate the SMT machine, including understanding the sequence of events, the control panel and indicators, and how to replenish supplies and components per SOPs.

Machine Set-Up and Adjustment: Perform set-up of the machine, make necessary adjustments, and handle feeder loading and changing according to manufacturing instructions and SOPs.

Maintenance: Conduct general machine cleaning and upkeep as per SOPs.

Quality Support: Support quality and environmental objectives by adhering to set standards and practices.

Additional Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned by the SMT Supervisor.

Position Qualifications:

MSD Handling: Knowledge of procedures for handling and storing moisture-sensitive devices (MSDs).

ESD Compliance: Understanding of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) requirements for the manufacturing area.

Solder Paste Control: Familiarity with procedures for controlling solder paste.

PCB Handling: General instructions for handling and processing printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Production Output: Ensure production output meets customer requirements.

Component Identification: Ability to identify various components used in the production process.

Safety and PPE: Understand and adhere to safety and personal protection equipment (PPE) requirements of the area.

Non-Conforming Materials: Basic understanding of non-conforming materials (NCM) and their control processes.

Requirements:

Previous experience operating SMT machines or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to read and interpret manufacturing instructions and standard operating procedures.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

Basic computer skills and the ability to document production processes.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Understanding of safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Working Conditions:

The role requires working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery noise and soldering processes.

Must be able to handle small components and perform tasks with precision.

Requires standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.Company Description
