Job Summary
We are seeking a licensed Mental Health Clinician or a Mental Health Clinician with a Master degree to join our team! In this role, you will diagnose and treat psychological disorders, teach communication skills, assist patients in addressing dysfunctional behaviors, and guide them through crises. Responsibilities
Provide clinically appropriate services, including in-home, in-school and office, based on the needs of the case
Providing consistent clinical services to clients assigned, following up to either resume services or discharge following 4 missed sessions
Contacting assigned referrals in a timely manner to schedule intake sessions
Coordinating services to avoid billing or clinical conflicts if there are multiple providers on the case
Completing client documentation that is correct and complete, according to HBC Policies and Procedures
Following HBC Policies and Procedures for requesting other clinical services (e.g., BTech, Psychiatrist)
Contacting the assigned Clinical Supervisor to discuss case status and progress on a regular basis
Turning in all original client documentation to the office for filing
Following HIPAA rules and HBC Policies and Procedures regarding confidentiality of client information.
Following state mandated abuse and neglect reporting procedures and HBC Policies and Procedures regarding abuse/neglect of children, disabled individuals or elderly individuals.
Submitting incident reports for sentinel events, as specified in HBC Policies and Procedures
Maintaining a confidential voice mail phone number that he/she will check on a regular basis
Following acceptable standards of professional and ethical conduct
Able to participate in Team Meetings, In-Services, Trainings, etc.
Communicating with the referral source, especially to notify him/her of the intake, discharge or “closed chart”
Qualifications
Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts
A licensed practitioner of the healing arts is a psychiatric nurse, registered nurse, advanced registered nurse practitioner, physician assistant, clinical social worker, mental health counselor, marriage and family therapist, or Psychologist.
Master’s Level Practitioner
A master’s level practitioner is an individual with:
A master’s degree from an accredited university or college with a major in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related human services field; and two years of professional experience in providing services to persons with behavioral illness; or
A master’s degree from an accredited university or college with a major in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education or a related human services field; and who is under the supervision of a licensed practitioner of the healing arts
License and Certifications: License, CPR, HIV, OSHA, Domestic Violence any other CEU’s
Other Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Needed
Previous experience as a mental health therapist preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certified
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organized
