Security & Low Voltage Estimator

Job Description

The Estimator primary role will be to expand the Low Voltage department through new development and existing cliental. Eligible candidates will be proficient in all Structured Cabling, i.e. Cat6, Cat6A and fiber optic cabling along with Security knowledge of Video Surveillance systems, Intrusion systems, and Access Control systems.Company Description

DTI is looking to expand our growing Low Voltage department with an ideal candidate who is looking to be part of a highly energetic and motivated staff.

Qualifications:

•\t5 - 10 years of estimating experience.

•\tAbility to read and understand low voltage, security drawing and specification requirements.

•\tHigh level of knowledge and hands on experience with design and installation of Low Voltage Communications Cabling Systems, CCTV and Access Control Systems.

•\tAttention to detail and well organized.

•\tMaintain a professional and positive attitude in a fast paced and high-pressure environment.

•\tHave excellent verbal, written communication, and critical thinking skills.

•\tDetail-oriented with a focus on meeting deadlines.

•\tEffective communication and relational capacities to interact with clients, subcontractors, and company teams.

•\tStrong Leadership qualities.

•\tProficient in basic computer applications, i.e., Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.

•\tPreferred knowledge of Procore, but not required.

Responsibilities:

•\tRequires timely delivery of estimates based on bid dates.

•\tAttend pre-bid meetings, perform site visits, conduct site surveys, and document existing conditions.

•\tPerform take-offs, submit RFI’s, develop scope of work based on contract documents complete with scope inclusions, exclusions & classifications.

•\tIdentify new business opportunities and projects to bid on.

•\tPartner with the project management team to fine-tune project designs and schedules based on estimates.

•\tRequest material and equipment quotes to bid on the projects.

•\tCoordinate with other estimators on multi-discipline quotes to ensure that each trades Scope of Work does not overlap with other disciplines.

•\tPerform Kick-Off meetings with Operations to ensure all necessary “scope of work” information has been passed on to the Project Manager/Supervisor.

•\tPrepare estimates using company estimation software.
