Delta Star Electrical Contractors is hiring Apprentice and Journeyman Electricians! At Delta Star Electrical Contractors, Inc. (Delta Star), we provide thoughtful and creative lighting solutions for our clients. We work with clients (homeowners, architects, and contractors) throughout any stage of a project - whether it be exploratory conversations about how they envision a space to feel, assisting with fixture selections/suggestions, or through an entirely new construction build - we know that we serve our clients best by being a trusted partner in their project.

The Residential Electrician plays a key role in projects, including laying out and wiring spaces per plan, participating in on-site client walk-thrus to understand project goals, and by providing thoughtful problem-solving solutions when the unexpected arises.

Salary + Benefits:

This is a full-time position located in the Northshore communities of Chicago (primarily Lake and northern Cook counties). Able to run conduit and wire (“rough out” a new or remodel project).

Able to read blueprints.

Able to install light fixtures and devices, with confidence in using a ladder or scaffolding.

Able to troubleshoot problems, by utilizing your experience and available resources.

Able to efficiently and accurately track your time utilizing a company provided app.

Able to document project details utilizing a company provided app.

Able to work alongside others, or independently based on the needs of each project.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Apprentice - 1-3+ Years of experience working as a residential electrician, on new and/or remodel construction projects. 3+ Years Experience is required.

Journeyman - 5+ Years of experience working as a residential electrician, on new and/or remodel construction projects. 5+ Years Experience is required.

Excellent communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and clients.

Experience with the following is preferred, but not required:

Generators: Servicing and troubleshooting.

Lutron RadioRa2: Functional knowledge of lighting control system.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with federal, state, and local standards.

Ability to lift and mobilize large items, up to 50 lbs. while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.

Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone.

Must own basic/common hand tools needed to complete electrical projects.

Must live in the greater Chicagoland area with reliable transportation to commute daily to project location and/or our Northbrook office.
