Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties:

Inspect, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair various yacht systems.

Possess advanced knowledge in marine electric, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

Utilize appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment for inspections and repairs.

Train and lead the technical team, ensuring best practices and yacht etiquette.

Plan and estimate work hours, materials, and workload per task.

Report daily on tasks, progress, and any issues encountered.

Prepare detailed technical reports with photos and recommendations.

Develop cost estimates for assigned jobs.

Ensure compliance with OEM standards and company quality protocols.

Clean and prepare work areas before and after tasks.

Travel domestically and internationally for training and yacht servicing.

Handle troubleshooting and repairs via phone or video when necessary.

Maintain inventory and suggest necessary stock items.

Assist in workshop improvements and vessel preparation for shows.

Operate forklifts or other equipment for heavy parts.

Be available for emergency calls and flexible with work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Accompany corporate captains on sea trials and maintain company equipment.

Foster positive relationships with colleagues and clients, ensuring effective communication and safety compliance.

Education, Experience, Requirements, Qualifications, and Skills:

Minimum of 7 years in the marine industry.

Advanced skills in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.

Proficient in welding, plumbing, carpentry, fiberglass, painting, and other related skills.

Experience with NMEA2000, CANBUS, PLCs, J1939, Ethernet, and communication protocols.

Advanced use of Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and remote access software.

Technical education preferred; engineering background is a plus.

Own vehicle and tools required.

Ability to work in confined spaces, lift 50 pounds, and ascend/descend ladders and masts.

Excellent communication skills.

Must pass physical, drug screen, and background checks if requested.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

NMEA2000, ABYC, OSHA certificates (mandatory).

Valid driver’s license and passport.

Optional captain license and other relevant certifications.

Provide references and evidence of technical accomplishments.
