Qualifications: * Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology * Proper State licensure * Possession of Certificate of Clinical Competence * Proper endorsements as required Reports To: * Building Principal and Student Services Responsibilities: Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following: * Evaluate student's current level of functioning as it relates to the areas of language and communication, using culturally sensitive and appropriate assessment tools * Schedule, plan and convene ETR teams for the purposes of initial and re-evaluations * Regularly evaluate and report student progress, identifying strengths and needs to assist the team in making program modifications * Regularly collect and analyze data * Determine appropriate interventions based on assessment results * Collaborate with general education staff and special education staff to determine needs and monitor progress * Experience providing services within the general education setting * Experience participating on Teacher Based Teams * Implements appropriate instructional activities, based on established curriculum, which meet the individual learning needs of students and maximize communication and participation opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Knowledge of special education principles and strategies as applied to children with severe speech and physical impairments.
* Knowledge of augmentative/alternative communication principles and strategies, and technology applications currently available in the field.
* Ability to prepare comprehensive reports, speak and write effectively and work under a minimum of direction.
* Ability to elicit the cooperation of others and function as an effective team member.
* Ability to participate in the overall educational program and team planning, development of activities that include long range strategic goals and initiatives.
