The TSO is the Operations Manager’s direct representative, responsible for providing overall leadership and management of all personnel assigned to his/her specific terminal operation. The TSO has the following duties and responsibilities:

Ensures full compliance and proper execution of approved/applicable Facility Security Plans (FSP), MTSA and all applicable federal and state regulations.

Plans, organizes and manages the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the directives are accomplished.

Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer, federal authorities and employee complaints.

Coordinates Operational meetings to ensure flow of information between all Supervisors.

Proper safe-keeping of all associated Sensitive Security Information (SSI) materials.

Management in line with established organizational requirements.

Arbitration of employee disputes and resolution of complaints, as necessary.

Monitor supervisory functions by conducting continual on-the-job training.

Maintain the order and overall compliance standards for job execution.

Provide the safeguarding and security of assets for personnel, clients and all visitors.

Write and maintain reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.

Inspect work areas to ensure compliance of established regulations in regards to safety and maintenance.

Observe and evaluate worker’s performance to ensure upward mobility and proper utilization of employee skills.

Ensure all required reports are executed as necessary.

Ensure schedules are accurate, balanced and fair.

Accountable to local client representatives to determine if standards and precedence are being met.

Monitor and report suspicious activities to local authorities.

Monitor and address subordinates in violation of policies and procedures.

Coordinate meetings with local authorities regarding security procedures as necessary.

CBP (Customs Border Patrol)

USCG

Local/Port Police Dept.

Act as Liaison between LE, CBP, USCG, and associated entities listed formerly.

Requirements:

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Must be able to communicate in and speak fluent English

Must be able to work in a client-focused role within a fast pace environment.

Must be able to handle multiple tasks and high level of accuracy required.

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service

State Security Officer License required.

High school diploma or GED required.

Associates degree or higher preferred.

Law Enforcement or Military experience preferred.

Customer Service experience preferred.

Screener certification (provided by company)

Physical Requirements:

Inspects documents for validity such as; TWIC, Port ID, driver’s licenses, company ID’s and passports for access control.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

Must be able to stand a minimum of 8 hours at a time.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on a telephone/VHF two-way radio.

Must have sufficient computer and writing skills.
