Description:
V-Tech is seeking Private Duty Nurses (RNs) to provide personalized medical care to patients in their homes or in private settings. The incumbent will work closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that the patient's medical needs are met with compassion and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
Assessment and Planning
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments
- Develop and manage individualized care plans
- Evaluate patient outcomes and modify care plans accordingly
Medication Administration
- Administer a wide range of medications, including intravenous (IV) medications
- Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust as needed
Complex Procedures
- Perform advanced medical procedures such as inserting central lines, administering blood transfusions, and managing ventilators
- Provide wound care, including complex wound management
Supervision
- Supervise LPNs, nursing assistants, and other healthcare staff
- Provide education and support to patients and their families
Critical Care
- Handle acute and critical care situations
- Make autonomous decisions in emergency situations
Requirements:
Register Nurse licensure in the state of Maryland
Previous experience in home healthcare, hospital nursing, or a related field preferred
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Compassionate and empathetic attitude toward patients and families
CPR certification and other relevant certifications may be required
Working Conditions:
Work hours may vary depending on patient needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Exposure to potentially infectious diseases and hazardous materials
Physical demands may include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Travel to patients' homes or other private locations required
