Job Description

The Environmental Test Operations Group is looking for an engineer with knowledge of Thermal Protection, Heating & Air Conditioning, Powertrain Cooling Systems, Powertrain Calibrations and Thermal Data Acquisition Systems. This engineer will be responsible for performing drive cell tests and assisting with any diagnostic problems associated with the test facility or vehicle. In addition to this role, the position will include working with Mechanics on Thermal Vehicle Instrumentation Builds by documenting Scope of Work and ensuring builds are kept on schedule by coordinating needed information / removing any roadblocks / needed info / etc.

Operator Role:

Operate the Drivability Test Cell.

Execute Customer Vehicle Test Plans.

Monitor the daily operation and assure that all systems are operating at their maximum capabilities.

Track Cell utilization through Metrics

Communicate with management daily all information pertinent to the Operation of the Drivability Test Cell

Project Engineer Role:

Coordinate and guide thermal instrumentation build from submission to completion.

Document build Scope of Work.

Liaison between mechanics and Customers for build issues / parts / information / etc.

Assist in data acquisition system set up / validation / root cause efforts.

Position Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university

Some experience in thermal development, HVAC, or cooling systems.

Some experience in powertrain calibration / vehicle electrical architectures

Excellent written & oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Thermal ETOIII Database (Environmental Test Operations)

Experience with Data Acquisition Systems

Experience with vehicle CAN bus and system operations

Experience with Drive Cell / Wind Tunnel Testing

Experience using INCA to collect vehicle bus data

Experience with TDCI software to run facility.

Experience with PLC systems

Experience working with Bargaining Unit Mechanics
