About the Position:

Timbercreek Capital is seeking a Commercial Mortgage Administrator who will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The position will be accountable for assisting with the management of the servicing of Timbercreek’s mortgage book. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for assisting with the funding and closing process for each mortgage loan investment and each mortgage loan where Timbercreek Mortgage Servicing Inc. is a Servicer.

Key Responsibilities:

Servicing

Responsible for accurate set up of loan details on Yardi mortgage software.

Maintain and develop controls to ensure the integrity of the mortgage loan system and accuracy of information.

Provide timely and effective servicing of the portfolio of loans from the advance of funds to the full repayment of the mortgage loan.

Ensure collateral loans are properly insured against loss due to fire and other hazards as per Lender’s standards. Annual follow-up for insurance renewals, ensuring that the renewal policy meets the requirements.

Set up of all payments and/or follow-up of all property taxes, as well as reserve accounts (including the disbursement of any escrowed funds).

Process loan renewals on mortgage software and ensure that all renewal documents and packages are scanned and saved to the specific mortgage.

Ensure loan repayments and principal reductions are processed when received.

Ensure proper sign off and documentation is received per the company’s policies and procedures.

Ensure that all Anti-Money Laundering laws are adhered to at the time of subsequent renewals.

In completing their responsibilities, the role will involves collaborating with internal relationships (funding, credit, origination and management) and external contacts (borrowers, lending partners and mortgage brokers).

Funding

Assist with the management of the closing process for direct investments made by the various Timbercreek funds.

Manage work volumes to meet short timelines with a high level of quality.

Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the company's funding procedures, Anti-Money Laundering policies, legal guidelines, and resources.

Special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience

Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience in the financial services industry.

A background in accounting is an asset.

A minimum of 2 years commercial mortgage administration experience.

Knowledge of CMHC and residential lending practices.

Qualifications

Microsoft Office / Excel skills, experience working with a servicing system such as Yardi and strong logic and fundamental math skills.

Focus on data integrity while using and improving on technology in the loan input process.

A professional demeanor coupled with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Demonstrates a high degree of integrity, diplomacy and confidentiality.

Ability to accurately listen, understand and respond appropriately.

Ability to work and act independently, using good judgment when assessing difficult situations.

Self-motivated individual who is proactive, takes initiative, and capable of working independently without a lot of direction.

Superior organizational and time management skills to multi-task/prioritize and work under tight timelines and meet multiple deadlines.

Flexible with a “can-do” attitude and a “no task is too big or too small” attitude.

Excellent problem-solving capabilities.

Superior attention to detail and accuracy and excellent follow-up skills.
