Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Methods Manager to join and lead the restructuring and growth of our methods planning team. Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and mentor the existing team to support existing program needs.
· Develop and implement a strategic plan to triple the department's staff size within three years, fostering a culture of standardization, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Develop standards to ensure consistency in the documentation the methods planning department produces (Planning, work instructions, operation sheets etc.)
· Utilize industrial engineering principles, and data-driven insights to drive output of methods planning deliverables ensuring successful utilization at the operator level.
Review and approval of planning & ensuring accuracy of information entered into Fleet’s ERP system · Assist in proposal/estimating activities for new programs and/or products
Co-lead Fleets Change Control Board, and manage both internal and external requests for changes to methods
Develop work breakdown structures for large methods planning initiatives/new program start-ups and prepare work distribution plans
· Restructure the department into methods and shop floor support teams, optimizing processes and enhancing productivity while maintaining quality standards.
· Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and senior management to align departmental goals with overall company objectives and growth strategies.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field is preferred
· Proven experience managing teams of 5-20 members
· Strong background in industrial engineering principles, process optimization, and Six Sigma methodologies is preferred
· Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to drive positive change and foster teamwork.
· Successful candidate must meet all requirements under Canadian Controlled Goods Program (requires background check)
Proficiency in MS Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
· A degree in Engineering or related field.
· Extensive experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing practices
Experience with ERP based methods planning
Experience with CAD software, familiarity with CATIA
