Expense Manager

Purpose

Manage the regular performance management processes for the business unit’s expenses (Insurance and Takaful), providing sound financial analysis and enhanced business insight

Responsibilities

Manage the close process for expenses, including scheduling of tasks and deliverables and completing expense accruals.

Reviewing monthly expense and FTE reporting, provide variance analysis and commentary on results, covering:

Country Expense submissions to the Group, including regular reports and upload to EPM

Local management reporting of cost centre expenditure to budget holders

Expenses movement commentary to BNM, EXCO, Board, etc

Monitor monthly outsourcing charge in/out against plan and prepare supporting documentation for payment requests.

Monitor expense recharges from Region, Group and shared services.

Prepare quarterly expense forecasts, ensuring inputs from stakeholders such as HR, CREWs, IT and cost centre owners are considered.

Prepare the annual planning exercise, working closely with the business functions to develop robust expense plans.

Be the first point of contact within the business on expense topics. Develop and manage key relationships.

Search for opportunities to add value to the business, enhance the monthly reporting processes and analysis provided to support business insight.

Ad-hoc expense analysis and project work as required.

Management of minimum 2 direct report, provide guidance and support to direct report assist them to resolve the problem/issue encounter.

Qualifications / Experience

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Law (JD) and 3 or more years of experience in a similar role
