Job Description

We are seeking a Controller for our team in Houston, Texas. This role is centered around managing and overseeing all corporate accounting functions. It involves regular preparation, publishing, and communication of corporate financial statements, forecasts, and analyses. The individual will ensure that the company's accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles and all applicable regulations and laws.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

• Ensure accuracy, adherence to accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and timely reporting to management and external stakeholders.

• Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with department heads and senior management.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and payroll processing.

• Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis to assess financial performance and support strategic initiatives.

• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure data integrity, and compliance with financial regulations and policies.

• Coordinate and manage external audits with independent auditors.

• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.

• Provide financial leadership and guidance to finance and accounting teams.

• Collaborate with senior management in strategic planning, financial forecasting, and decision-making processes.• Proficiency in auditing and budget processes

• Knowledge of commercial real estate

• Ability to handle month-end close procedures

• Experience in financial statement preparation and consolidation

• Familiarity with CAM reconciliation and consolidations across multiple entities

• Proficiency in using Yardi Software and Yardi Property Management

• Strong understanding of financial statements consolidation

• Ability to handle accounting for multiple entities

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field required

• CPA certification is a plus

• Prior experience as a Controller or in a similar role is preferred
