QP Services, an Iron Woman company has an immediate opening for an experienced Project Estimator with a background in civil construction, underground utilities, utility maintenance and rehabilitation and cast-in-place (CIP) concrete. The Estimator will be based in our Denver, Colorado (Centennial) office and manage all aspects of developing project cost estimates in support of our operations throughout the Rocky Mountain region. As a project estimator, you will also provide support for the planning, development, negotiation, and contract execution of the project.

Job Responsibilities:

Research and track new bidding opportunities within the company's primary and secondary markets.

Review project plans and specifications to determine the nature and scope of projects.

Engage in strategic alliance with operations to develop win strategy and leadership of the bid team.

· Evaluate different owner contract delivery models such as hard bid, CMaR, CMGC, Design Build, Progressive Design Build, etc. to identify how each delivery model impacts costs and resources (i.e., Preconstruction Services), and apply appropriate strategies.

· Lead the estimate procedure from strategy review through bid closing and submission.

· Work with the operations team throughout the preconstruction process in reviewing plans and specifications for constructability, identifying opportunities for value-engineered cost savings, competitive differentiation, and an overall understanding of the project.

· Create, maintain, and manage the preconstruction and design schedule.

· Analyze design criteria and assist in recommending best options based on cost, engineering quality, and availability of materials to quantify and mitigate risk.

· Perform timely and accurate project take-offs.

Perform thorough pre-bid site investigations (visit project work sites), participate in pre-proposal meetings, clarify scope of work, prepare RFI’s, and fully understand site specifications.

Utilize B2W Estimate software to build the project estimate.

Utilize Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project to prepare bid schedules to be used to determine resource demands and assess project scheduling and resource allocation risks.

Assemble the lowest accurate cost through assignment of crews, productions, schedules, materials, and subcontracting opportunities by utilizing past estimating / operational experience and cost history as a guide.

· Formulating contingency plans and effectively managing risks that might impact cost and time estimates.

· Coordinate all bid communications with owner, engineers, subcontractors, and material suppliers on bid status.

Ensure that all subcontracted scopes of work have been solicited and are quoted for each of the subcontracted work items.

Ensure that all materials required are solicited with written quotations provided for each item of need.

Perform subcontract and material supplier quote review and ensure accurate entry into B2W Estimate software.

Complete bid closing and assignment of bid unit prices.

Identify, solicit, and obtain appropriate level of MWBE and/or DBE partners throughout the bid process; ensure that project goals have been met.

Assemble a complete and accurate bid package for review.

Lead project bid review and ensure agreed upon changes are accurately reflected in final estimate.

Assist the Divisional Vice President, President, and CEO in establishing project margin.

Manage final bid package throughout final delivery and/or bid submission.

Keep track of the latest estimating technology and industry-related techniques.

Perform all duties while maintaining company values, ethics, and in full compliance with company processes and procedures.

Job Requirements:

Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ experience in estimating civil construction, underground utilities, utility maintenance and rehabilitation and cast-in-place (CIP) concrete projects.

Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an estimating position working on projects valued in excess of $2 million.

4-year degree in engineering, construction management or an equivalent combination / amount of technical training and/or related construction experience.

Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), B2W Estimate, Adobe/Bluebeam, and/or Primera P6 is strongly preferred.

Highly productive and willing to manage a busy work schedule independently.

Excellent communication skills, research, proposal writing, and oral presentation skills.

Intimate knowledge of construction industry production rates is a must.

Experience in alternative delivery models (CMaR, CMGC, Design Build) is preferred.

Exceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.

Superb management and negotiation skills.

Ability to closely collaborate with other project teams and stakeholders.

Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards.
