Manufacturing Maintenance Technician - Facilities/Machinery/Vehicles

Job Description

Maintenance Technician Job Summary:

Responsible for providing oversight to interior and exterior repairs and upkeep needed for the overall functioning of the facility and rolling stock: over the road vehicles, forklifts, trailers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist with preparing schedule for repairing all machines

• Repair all machines that break down – will require strong electrical knowledge and experience

• Maintain a preventive maintenance on all machines

• Maintain and manage inventory on all parts; order parts for all machines as needed

• Assist with scheduling contractors’ work in the plant

• Assist in moving machines and departments

• Create new ideas for better production

• Work with outside vendors on purchasing new and used equipment as well as maintenance of equipment that cannot be performed on site

• Perform scheduled repairs on all over the road vehicles, trailers, and forklifts

• Secure plant for closing each night and assist with the morning start-up as needed

• Ability to work late hours, including weekends as needed

• Operate grinding, drill press, power tools

• Welding

• Assist production staff as needed

• Other duties as assigned by manager

The ideal candidate will have skills and experience as listed above and the ability to develop other newer maintenance team members.
