Standard BioTools is looking for a Director of Commercial Operations. This role will help to mature the team’s ability to deliver consulting-level advisory service for Sales and Marketing, gleaning SFDC and related Commercial systems to develop dashboards, reports, funnel analysis, gap identification, and recommending corrective actions for Sales and Marketing. This role also will ensure successful execution of key tasks to support other functions, such as Manufacturing, and deliver accurate/timely forecast signals that support SIOP (Sales Inventory Operations Planning). This leader will also be a key player to ensure that the Commercial team is fully benefiting from all available data and management reporting features offered by Commercial systems (eg: SFDC feature of CRM Analytics - Einstein). The ideal candidate must have an eye for detail, structured work approach, and a go-getter personality ready to help synchronize all elements that ensure success in the fast-paced Commercial team.

Description:

Directly manage team of 6+ team members; performing essential hiring, development, performance evaluation responsibilities, and ensuring workload balance and match of skills to business needs

Assist Finance/Sales in the design, analysis, and optimization of sales territory coverage

Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and implement incentive programs that motivate and reward sales.

Collaborate with Marketing leadership to assist with, and drive, MQL/SQL conversion analysis, identify gaps and make recommendations for corrective actions

Provide support during the planning and execution of sales forecasting, budgeting, and quota-setting processes.

Utilize advanced analytics to provide actionable insights into sales performance, trends, and opportunities.

Design, implement, and maintain sales dashboards and reports to support data-driven decision-making.

Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and refine sales metrics, KPIs, and performance indicators.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate and streamline sales systems and processes.

Participate in the implementation of new technologies and tools to enhance sales and marketing analytics capabilities.

What you Bring:

Strong basis in sales/commercial operations analysis, planning, systems, tools, methodologies

Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.

Detail-oriented individual, with a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Lean/Six Sigma experience (ideally with A3 root cause corrective action skills)

Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills

Ability to prioritize workflow, follow-through, and work with minimal supervision

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment with quick turnaround times and tight deadlines

Ability to give (and accept/act on) constructive professional feedback and coaching

Ability to pivot focus as dictated by business demands; and be open to various outcomes and perspectives

Proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement and optimization in sales analytics and compensation management

Required Skills:

8+ years of experience as a people manager, leading teams, conducting performance evaluations, and driving personnel and team development

10+ years of experience deploying, and maximizing use/value of SFDC including CRM Analytics (formerly SFDC Einstein)

10+ years of experience as a commercial operations analyst with a focus on analytics related to compensation plans, territory alignment, pipeline and funnel content and trends.

For our internal customers: strong customer service skills, a bias for action, taking ownership of meeting customer needs, demonstrating a commitment to sharpening skills, using positive communication.

Experience designing and implementing sales dashboards and reports.

Knowledge of sales compensation plan design, administration, and analysis.

Extensive experience with excel workbooks and features
