Depot Repair is responsible for testing and repairing electro-mechanical products assigned by work order. This position applies knowledge of electronics and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. This role may also be assigned to other operations and/or manufacturing teams as necessary to meet customer demand.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Work as assigned to troubleshoot and repair “returned for repair” units or components in a manner that efficiently and effectively repairs electromechanical equipment in accordance with operational specifications and customer requirements.

2. Plans and performs work requiring knowledge of equipment specifications, properties, materials and applications of the full array of hardware products offered by ES&S.

3. Makes suggestions with respect to repair process improvements to increase productivity, reduce cycle times and improve cost performance for the department.

4. Installs, starts ups and shuts down equipment in accordance with operational procedures for machine activation and shutdown in accordance with company and OSHA safety requirements.

5. Documents work using IFS System and other methods as instructed by Depot Manager.

Schedule: Monday through Friday. Roughly 32 - 40 hours per week.

Duration of contract: 6-9 months

Pay: $18-$22/hr

Education: A vocational degree in electronic, mechanical or computer technology field preferred; Preferred associates degree in electrical engineering technology or equivalent military training.

Experience: At least 1-year experience including:

Knowledge of electronic components and equipment including the use of instruments for diagnostic purposes

Competencies:

Electronic Troubleshooting

Problem Solving/Analysis

Communication proficiency

Personal effectiveness/credibility

Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills used daily in office/admin setting

Licenses/Certifications Required: None.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: This job operates in light manufacturing environment with exposure to equipment, tools and various noise levels.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand up to 4 hours; walk; hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employees in this role must be able to lift up to 65 pounds unassisted.

Travel: Approximately 10% travel is expected.
