JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for assessing the immediate needs of clients and their families and identifying potential barriers to short and long-term recovery.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily in a timely manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. This person must be proficient in interpersonal and communication skills, as well as time management and organizational skills. Registration in the state as a Counselor in Training (CIT) or certified as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor is required. Completion of a Qualified Behavioral Health Provider (QBHP) training is required. Must be knowledgeable of all local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of a GED or high school diploma; Bachelor’s degree in the human service field is preferred. Applicants must register as a Counselor in Training (CIT) or be certified as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Within six months of eligibility to test for the ADC exam, the exam must be scheduled and taken.

Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 25 pounds or less; manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
Job Duties
Schedule, conduct and document individual coaching sessions
Maintain client records to include documentation of progress
Coordinate case management appointments with outside agencies and support staff transport for residential clients; satellite office Recovery Coaches provide transports for their clients
Complete discharge procedure including documentation, aftercare planning and check- out
Attend weekly Learning Labs
Maintain availability for clients
Assist in screening of prospective clients and admission of clients deemed appropriate for services
For coaches working in residential settings – perform Regional Detoxification Specialist duties, as assigned; and dispense and log medications
Conduct drug testing, to include gathering of specimen and completing documentation
Follow all company policies and procedures
Multitask, prioritize and manage time, as needed
Other duties as assigned
If not certified or licensed, must complete an initial -40- hour classroom training to obtain a QBHP certificate. Ongoing training will consist of at least eight hours of training each twelve- month period. The training may, in part, be conducted in the field. Documentation of in-service hours will be maintained in the employee’s personnel files and will be available for inspection by regulatory agencies.
Per insurance requirements, all employees must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
