Primary Purpose of Position

Responsible for the operation of the Thermal Garage. To assure that the area remains in operation daily to perform the preparation/fabrication of vehicles, vehicle systems. Responsible for coordinating the efforts of Mechanics and Engineers to facilitate the Thermal Development process.

Major Duties of Position

Monitor the daily operation and assure that all systems are operating at their maximum capabilities.

Measure and report to management monthly, the facilities performance.

Assure that all required equipment and tools for operating the Garage are available and in stock.

Act as Safety Coordinator for this facility.

Help to coordinate work orders to the appropriate mechanic based on workload and priority.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Familiar with Hot & Cold Test Facility for the express purpose of thermodynamic testing of vehicles and the relationship between the facility and test articles builds.

Familiar with the operation of Test Equipment for the express purpose of thermodynamic testing of vehicles, modules, and components and development of their associated systems.

Familiar with vehicle systems Cooling, HVAC, and engine systems.

Familiar with the Local #412 contract and working rules.

Ability to interface with various types of instrumentation for the purpose of debugging repairing vehicle instrumentation after installation and prior to testing.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Basic knowledge of vehicle HVAC and engine cooling systems.

Able to work in a team environment.

Excellent communication skills

Possess basic computer skills: MS Office

a valid driver's license with no physical restrictions

2-3 years' experience in supervision of a vehicle build shop.
