COOK HELPER JOB SUMMARY

A Cook Helper needs working knowledge of proper dish handling methods and rules governing clean dish handling. Required to provide good sanitation in the kitchen area. Receives and puts away all deliveries, sweeps and mops all walk-ins and storerooms, performs hotbox deliveries and washes pots/small ware. Some food production required, P.M. schedule duties and trash collection as well as assisting cook as needed.

COOK HELPER JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and/or experience: Dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred.

Knowledge: Knowledge of proper dish handling methods and rules governing clean dish handling.

Skills: Skills in dish handling methods and rules governing clean dish handling preferred.

Abilities: Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations and make independent decisions. Must be willing to be a part of a team. Must have flexible work schedule.
