The Role We Want You For

We are currently seeking a professional and skilled Software Developer to engineer, develop and administer responsibilities for 3rd party business applications supporting Clayco and its businesses. This team member will work with technology program managers and developers on the Project Management agile team, as well as others within the organization, to develop software solutions.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform hands-on technical and administrative tasks, managing day-to-day operations of applications supporting project management delivery, including Join, Destini Estimator, Trimble, PMWeb, Clearstory and other 3rd party off-the-shelf solutions.

Work with other developers optimizing large, in-application SQL statements and establishing best practices.

Solve database usage issues and generates ideas and advice that can avoid such problems in the future to drive operational efficiencies.

Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases and handle common database procedures such as upgrades, backups, recovery, and migrations.

Support the development team and business by writing SQL queries and SSRS reports, and editing/optimizing existing queries/reporting.

Assist with administering 3rd party software licenses and subscriptions.

Application lifecycle management for licenses, certificates, upgrades, releases, and patching.

Work with the broader IT organization, including Service Delivery, Info Security, Infrastructure, and Application Development teams to engage in root cause analysis and resolve problems.

Participate in the assessment of the customer environment and their requirements and documents results properly.

Perform basic support and debugging in test and production environments.

Learn and demonstrate application performance tuning, application performance monitoring, load testing and capacity planning for business related initiatives.

Make recommendations for improvements to existing applications and integrations.

Develop automations of business processes using RPA for documented and repeatable procedures.

Partner with Vendor & Managed Services as an extension of your team while thinking strategically for business related initiatives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

Experience with Join, Destini Estimator, Trimble, PMWeb, Clearstory, as well as other 3rd party applications supporting the construction industry.

3+ years of SQL query writing and its variants among popular databases. Experience with some of the modern relational databases like MYSQL, MS SQL Server a plus.

3+ years of Visual Studio SSRS report editing and building experience for business teams.

3+ years of platform administration experience.

Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.

1+ year experience managing requests, incidents, problem, changes. and stories in ServiceNow.

Great teamwork, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

Minimal travel required.

Knowledge of project development stages, procurement, project controls and construction execution practices would be ideal but not required.
