The Organization:
SSG-Project 180 turns lives around through innovative, wraparound services that keep people out of institutions and in their communities. Project 180 is a leader in the forensic treatment space, offering high-quality, specialized treatment programs that serve thousands of justice-involved individuals. Our programs span criminal justice intercepts and include pre-arrest interventions, court-based diversions, jail in-reach, and intensive post-release services. Project 180 operates in partnership with County agencies including the Department of Mental Health (DMH), the Department of Health Services (DHS), and the Justice, Care and Opportunities Department (JCOD). Annually, we serve over justice-involved 1,500 individuals.
The Position:
Seeking to fill a full-time therapist position who will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team delivering residential based services.
Program:
Interim Housing is a county-funded Department of Health Service (DHS) Office of Diversion and Reentry (ODR) program for individuals declared incompetent to stand trial. Instead of receiving services in a state hospital or locked facility, individuals are diverted to receive community based competency restoration. The Interim Housing program provides intensive, wraparound behavioral health services at 4 transitional housing sites.
Essential Functions:
Providing individual and group therapy services, including intake assessments, treatment plan development, crisis management/intervention support
Conducting bio-psychosocial assessment with clients. Develop a recovery plan of action and implement services towards recovery.
Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with the client and family members. Assist clients, families, and significant others in understanding mental illness and gaining their acceptance of and participation in their recovery and psychiatric treatment recommendations.
Participate, coordinate, and implement cooperative arrangements and/or team conferences with various interdisciplinary team members in the development and implementation of client's treatment plan and aftercare plan.
Maintain and update client's files and documentation in accordance with DHS and other county/state standards.
Minimum Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Strong written/verbal communication and time management skills
Preferred one year of direct service experience in a mental health setting with an interdisciplinary team approach to treatment.
Must be technologically proficient.
Must have own transportation, valid California Driver License, and proof of automobile insurance coverage. DMV record will be checked.
Master’s degree in social work or mental health field from an accredited college or university, and valid license or registration with licensing body (i.e. the BBS).
Must be registered or pending registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences
