System Test Engineer

System Test Engineer (Battery/Renewables) - Fremont, CA

I am working with an established startup that has raised over $100million and have expanded their operations across the USA. They have been working on a state-of-the-art product that is leading the industry within the Battery/Renewables sector so it would be a great time to join the team at their global HQ in Fremont, CA.

Responsibilities:

Testing battery packs, cells and systems for energy storage applications

Develop mechanical and electrical test procedures at cell, module and system level

Record test results, generate test reports and analyze test data to help the engineering team improve the product

Work hand in hand with the Engineering and R&D teams to solve issues that happen during testing using root cause analysis

Experience working with electrical testing tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and power supplies

Help build custom test rigs and procure required test equipment

Work with power electronics, controls and hardware on high voltage systems

Help develop technicians in the operation of test equipment

Essential Skills:

Degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, controls etc.)

Strong background in testing (ideally 3+ years)

Experience working on test systems for battery or energy storage would be ideal

Being familiar with root cause analysis and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)

The ability to analyze test results and communicate them back to the engineering team

Having knowledge with either LabView or Python would be highly desirable

A background with battery cyclers or inverters would be highly desirable
