Liaison Stress Engineer

Onsite in Seattle, WA or San Diego, CA

Start May 2024

12+ Months

Duties:

• Provide support to production for the aircraft modification and onsite liaison design engineering.

• Provide solutions to resolve engineering and technical issues during the aircraft modification. First aircraft is a prototype undergoing Supplemental Type Certification approval.

• Experience in major and minor repairs and STC modifications substantiations and stress analysis is required.

• Conduct stress analysis of the deviations and design changes during the aircraft production. Fatigue experience is a plus.

• Provide technical consultation advice to engineering team regarding analysis, design, certification, and product development.

• Develop and present materials for project related briefings for senior management

• Coordinate with DER and DAR to resolve issues related to the engineering, liaison, and production activities.

• Develop substantiation report for aircraft specific deviations and repairs. Evaluate OEM existing repairs based on STC modification.

• Research and review engineering drawings, engineering orders, and related technical data defining aircraft modifications and determine their effect on aircraft technical publications such as the ICA, FMS, CMM, SB, SRM, IPC, and Task Cards.

• Coordinate with multiple satellite offices for stress approval on aircraft deviations.

Requirements:

• Familiarity with Boeing aircraft design and construction, manuals, and drawings.

• Must know FAA regulations and guidelines

• Strong capabilities with static analysis using classical methods from open sources such as Bruhn, Niu, and NACA.

• Must be proficient in MSOffice and CATIA or Solidworks
