Position Overview:
Our Professional Liability practice group is seeking an attorney to investigate, research and prepare reports and analysis on complex matters involving professional liability claims, including but not limited to claims against construction and design firms. We are looking for an attorney who is detail-oriented and enjoys analyzing the facts of each claim, the contracts at issue and the law. The billable hour requirement for this position is 1850 hours per year.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze complex insurance contracts and policy forms
Apply policy contract terms to a variety of claim scenarios
Remain current on legislative trends and court decisions and provide timely updates, detailed insights, and recommendations
Produce comprehensive written opinions, including strategic recommendations, to business leaders where appropriate
Work with claims management to provide expert legal advice on risk exposure, policy interpretation, litigation strategy, and claims-handling protocols
Deliver high quality work product within defined service level agreements with clients
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
JD from an accredited law school
CA state licensed attorney in good standing
3+ years of legal experience
Positive attitude and team player
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent analytical and research skills
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
Not required, but strong preference for an attorney with experience interpreting insurance policies, drafting coverage opinions, and litigating coverage matters
Must have strong and persuasive oral and written communication skills
Ability to anticipate challenges and recommend solutions
Experience in conflict resolution and complex problem scenarios
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Work Location and Business Hours:
While Atheria supports flexible working arrangements, including remote work, we believe that in order to optimize the understanding of our practice, working as a team, and best servicing our clients, in-person interaction is important. At this time, unless otherwise agreed upon, all employees are required to work in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, or as otherwise needed, during regular business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Remote work on Fridays.

Salary
The expected annual salary for this position ranges from $145K to $215K. The salary offered will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to experience level, education/training, relevant skills, and location of position. Associates also participate in a performance and hours-based bonus program.
