The FP&A Director is a key business partner across the organization. This individual will implement, develop and provide commercial financial analysis on KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and give data driven insights to senior leadership to aid decision making.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead and participate in the development of and the implementation of the organization’s data warehouse. This includes defining key inputs from company systems, defining and mapping data, defining and calculating key performance indicators, building queries, and creating KPI reporting.

Lead and participate in refactoring the Company’s actuarial studies and analysis including the projected ultimate loss studies, product pricing studies, claims emergence patterns, and reserve rate setting.

Serve as a key business partner with the Sales Team to build a price book for all sales channels and all NSD products. This study will include studies and calculations of key variable and fixed cost inputs needed for the price book.

Lead and participate in selecting the Company’s preferred KPI reporting module between Tableau, Power BI and other competitors. Build queries between the Company’s data warehouse and the selected KPI reporting module.

Participate in the 2025 budget process which will be a zero-based budget process. Work with the team to develop better KPI budget inputs, better and faster reporting on budget versus actual results, and enable full departmental and sales channel budget versus actual reporting.

Partner with the finance team to create a driver-based roll forward budget process in NetSuite Planning and Budgeting. Create the ability to quickly perform reforecasts, latest estimates, and budget revisions leveraging system automation.

Developing efficiencies and process improvements within the finance team and financial reporting team’s work streams. Recommend and implement automation, systems set up improvements, and process improvements.

Partner with senior leaders, various departmental leaders, and the financial reporting team to define, and support recurring and ad hoc financial analysis needs.

Serve as a key business partner on special projects including customer integrations, new products and lines of business, acquisitions, and other ad hoc requests by determining key drivers, driving the right set of analyses, and presenting the conclusions.

Partner with the finance team to create month to date, quarter to date, and year to date reporting and variance analysis. Present findings to the CFO and participate in operations meetings to recommend improvements and course corrections.

Create and prepare product gross profit and performance analysis and gross profit and performance analysis by sales channel and by key business units.

Partner with the finance team to create automated customer level gross profit and gross profit percentage performance calculations.

Prepare ad-hoc management and financial reports as required.

Assist finance and financial reporting in preparing management reporting packs in a timely and clear fashion, with risks and opportunities readily identified from fluctuation analysis.

Work with finance and the CFO to monitor marketing and other spend data. Prepare fluctuation analysis showing actual costs incurred versus budget, explain material variances, support senior leader business decision making, and make improvement recommendations.

Education and Work Experience:

Accounting or finance degree preferred.

Strong presentation skills to present to high level internal roles internally and to key external stakeholders.

CPA or ACA/ACCA/CIMA preferred.

FP&A experience gained within established businesses.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent time management skills.

Strong knowledge of planning and performance processes, including annual budget, monthly forecast and periodic business reviews.

Strong knowledge and experience in actuarial studies and related analysis.

Team orientated, a “can do” attitude and flexible approach.

Superior analysis skills.

Enthusiasm for solving problems and working collaboratively.

Work experience with mid-size to large companies with high growth preferred.

Independent/Self-starter with high attention to detail.

Master’s Degree in accounting, business, finance or related field preferred.

Strong working knowledge of accounting and finance operations.
