Microbiologist Cosmetics (Junior to Senior)
[Job Description]
- Bioburden panel testing.
- Total plate count, Total combined yeast and mold count, enrichment testing.
- Test for specific microorganisms (pathogens).
- Media growth promotion testing.
- Microbiological examination of water.
- Environmental monitoring of air, equipment, and surfaces.
- Microscopic examination and identification.
- Water conductivity.
- Familiarity with the following microbial techniques: membrane filtration, pour plating, streaking.
- Plate reading. And apply aseptic techniques in daily workload.
- Use the autoclave to sanitize consumables and biohazardous waste.
- Maintain proper lab 5S, routinely check lab inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements.
- Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal.
- Perform quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, running media controls, etc.
- Perform all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner.
- Back up to other analysts.
- Properly document and record all information.
- Familiarity with lab ware. Familiarity of proper GDP and GMP.
[Qualifications]
- BS degree in microbiology or related field is required.
- A minimum of 1+ years of Quality Assurance or Microbiological testing experience in the cosmetic, nutritional, or pharmaceutical industries.
- One year project with possibility of extending.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to adapt to changes to improve company processes.
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to work well with other team members is required.
