Data Migration Analyst

As a Data Migration Engineer in the Data & Analytics organization, the role will play a critical part in the continued advancement in data conversion space. This role requires a computer science background with experience in data migration using SAP BODS/Syniti. This role will be responsible for the development data pipelines with additional the responsibility into design, implement data migration strategies and processes. Overall, the Data Migration Engineer will participate in various activities throughout the systems development lifecycle. Responsible for migrating data from various sources to target systems efficiently and accurately. Analyze existing data systems and structures to determine the best approach for migration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and objectives. Develop scripts and automation tools to facilitate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data migration, including data mapping discrepancies and transformation errors. This role requires strong technical expertise in data migration tools and methodologies, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Primary Job Responsibilities and technical skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or similar curriculum

2-3 years of relevant experience with SAP BODS, Syniti, ETL(Extraction, Transform, Load) tools and SQL

1-2 years of experience in Data Ingestion Tools, Exposure to cloud technologies, knowing concepts of Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Marts

1-2 years exposure in sourcing data from different platform like SAP, RDBMS, API etc

Experience with SAP Data Services, SAP (preferably on the S/4 platform) or other ERP platform(s)

Should have good hands-on experience on creating batch jobs, scheduling etc.

Proven analytic skills, including data conversations, data transformation, cleansing, evaluation, and visualization.

Needs to be able to understand the logical mapping and data models provided and design and develop ETL mappings as per available patterns.

Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, and project environment.

Technical writing experience with functional/technical specifications, data flows, process flows, workflows and diagraming.

Familiar with Agile Methodology concepts.

Good to have:

FIVETRAN experience

GCP, Big query exposure

Handling data on JSON, XML etc

Knowledge of ticketing tool. E.g. Service Now, Remedy and ALM Tool e.g. JIRA

Experience with Master Data Management concepts and objectives.
