Job Description
We are looking for an experienced professional to join the Software R&D team as a Project Manager. The SPM responsibilities include overseeing software projects from inception to completion, collaborating across various stakeholders including Product Management, UX, Development and Validation teams to resolve any dependencies or communication issues, monitoring project status and budget, putting in place risk mitigation plans for schedule and budget deviations.
The Software Project Manager is expected to drive several multi-disciplinary projects and activities involving different technology stacks including Hardware - Mechanical and Electronics & Software - Embedded and Cloud. The SPM should therefore have a strong technical foundation with an aptitude to develop end to end understanding of how ideaForge systems and software work. To this end, prior demonstrated outcomes in management of multi-disciplinary projects in domains such as Automotive, Avionics, Consumer Electronics, etc. is highly desirable.
The candidate should have good working knowledge of project estimation techniques - both in terms of budget and schedule. They should have strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to make quick decisions in ambiguous scenarios or ones with conflicting priorities.
Some of the key responsibilities of the SPM include:
Working with various cross-functional teams such as PM, UX, Development and V&V to understand and finalize Project scopes, timelines and budget parameters
Guiding the project through various milestones such as kickoff, intermediate checkpoints and final approval with inputs from all stakeholders
Working with Development leads to ensure adherence to quality, process and schedule KPIs
Tracking milestones, deliverables, and change requests.
Managing activities related to compliance and technical documentation
Conducting post release activities to monitor feedback from end users to drive continuous improvements .
Desired Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have a strong technical foundation with demonstrated capability to understand and build complex software systems. The parameters below are a guiding set, however, these should be interpreted in the context of the responsibilities of the role as outlined above:
A bachelor''s degree in information technology, software development management, software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in managing multiple, inter-disciplinary software development projects with a good mix of embedded and cloud software
Strong leadership, decision-making, and organization skills.
Ability to influence and motivate stakeholders through effective communication
Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
Experience with safety critical software development and product compliance or certification processes is a plus.
