The role is directly responsible for developing programs and process to ensure that the Leighton Asia strategy is fully embedded across the region as well as tracking, monitoring and reporting on all aspects of the quality and sustainability performance, giving clear guidance to quality and sustainability teams so as to maintain adherence to quality and sustainability standards and compliance norms; maintaining oversight on system document management with the objective of delivering efficient quality, sustainability and environmental management on Leighton projects and thus meeting the specific requirements of the client, government bodies and Leighton Asia.
Quality, Sustainability and Environment strategic planning
Establish and lead the quality and sustainability culture & strategy for the region
Develop programs & processes to ensure the objectives of the strategy are achieved.
Coordinate the regional development and implementation of the “Net Zero” Plan for Leighton Asia
Coordinate with Group Manager – Quality and Environment to ensure alignment of strategies
Monitoring and reporting on Business / project quality sustainability and environment performance
Guide project teams to implement effective management systems on projects that comply with specified contract and legislative.
Track instances of non-compliance, environmental incidents, quality defects, etc. and guide team to take corrective measures; escalate critical issues to BU GMs, OMs, Project Director / Leader, if required
Provide quality and sustainability related inputs to engineering procurement, and construction processes, etc. as required.
Attend bi-monthly Project SHEQ Meetings to review performance
Ensure all monthly quality and sustainability reporting to parent / holding companies is done in a timely manner
Document management, training and knowledge sharing
Develop and maintain procedural documentation for the region where necessary.
Coordinate with Regional HSEQ Manager regarding the maintenance and development of procedures on the CMS platform
Develop, communicate and report updates on quality, sustainability and environment issues / guidelines and changes through media such as dashboards, e-mail, notice boards, reporting etc
Provide information and advice to support pre-qualifications and tenderers
Quality, Sustainability and Environment audit and inspections
Assist the Regional SHEQ Manager with the maintenance of the region wide quality and environmental accreditation / certification.
Establish quality and environment audit programs for the business.
Guide teams to conduct audits as per plan by inspecting and reviewing processes and documentation.
Review audit findings, assess systemic weak areas and provide input on improvement measures.
Monitor the implementation of action items identified based on audit findings and track closure of non-compliances.
Innovations and Initiatives
Liaise with the Regional SHEQ Manager and Innovation Lead to identify and develop innovative quality and environmental solutions
Advise IT on requirements for workflows, data input, dashboards etc
Qualification, Experience and Skills
Total Work Experience: 12-15 years of experience in a Quality and Sustainability role, preferably in a managerial capacity.
Good working knowledge of quality and environment management, and ISO standards.
Knowledge of relevant regional statutory requirements.
Good knowledge of business processes.
Experience working with multi-cultural teams.
Experience in leading a team.
Experience with developing and delivering strategy.
