For more information, visit The Area EHS Manager will lead and influence change through effective communication and collaboration by providing clear and consistent messages and programs which support a culture of health, safety, and environmental awareness within their assigned divisional area.

Primary responsibilities include ensuring compliance with government (local and Federal) environmental, health and safety regulations, implementation of industry standard best practices across multiple sites, and working collaboratively with divisional and local management in partnership while supporting site based EHS leaders to drive EHS leading initiatives that positively impact lagging metric performance.

Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities: * Lead compliance with governmental and company EHS regulations and policies for area.

* Partner with divisional operational area and its locations in developing their safety improvement strategy.

* Advise local management teams on Worker Compensation cost reduction strategies.

* Provides analysis and reporting to divisional area management teams on EHS performance.

* Lead initiatives to address potential hazards and reduce operational risk.

* Recommend corrective/preventive measures to mitigate risk of injury in the workplace.

* Lead site EHS persons on analyzing and updating site specific programs, procedures and plans in accordance with government and company standards.

* Identify, monitor, and evaluate area safety activities through audits, statistical analysis and computerized record keeping.

* Ensure area safety and training programs comply with OSHA and other industry standards, and are facilitated, managed, and audited.

* Guide and assist sites with incident analysis, root cause and corrective action determination.

* Lead as the subject matter expert for area's applicable regulatory requirements.

Keep management team advised of new pending regulations and their projected impact.

* Oversee sites preparation and submittal of regulatory reports (TRI, Tier II, Air, Storm Water, Waste) * Develop collaborative relationships with divisional area leadership and site management teams.

* Serve as the primary resource to support site and divisional area leadership with meeting EHS standards.

* Promote and share best practices across the area and within the division.

* Oversee site EHS leads and identify areas of improvement and development opportunity.

* Support development and implementation of EHS action plans to achieve divisional objectives and targets.

* Serve as the division's EHS subject matter expert and monitor compliance through regular audits and reviews of Masonite programs, environmental permits, and compliance management plans.

* Advise and support divisional operational and site management teams on EHS activities, communicating initiatives, and updating on EHS performance.

* Provide oversight expertise for incident investigations, CAPA development and closure.

* Ensure timely reporting and claims management for workers compensation, general liability, and automotive liability.

* Coordinate health and industrial hygiene monitoring.

* Support site operations and EHS staff with developing and implementing compliance strategies for environmental permits and regulatory requirements.

* Assist site EHS staff with environmental reporting to regulatory agencies.

* Develop and normalize work processes, standards, and equipment throughout division.

* Work closely with divisional leadership to develop programs and plans as required.

* Assist individual facilities and EHS coordinators with completion of goals and objectives.

* Identify and communicate divisional risk exposure, prioritize risk reduction needs and ensure closure of CAPA.

* Communicate to divisional management team and lead investigation of safety related incidents (including near misses) to identify root cause(s) and ensure effective CAPA are implemented.

* Ensure delivery of EHS training programs to facility personnel for execution of site specific EHS training.

* Audit the effectiveness, quality, and delivery of EHS standards and programs, identify safety, health, and environmental risks/hazards and recommend appropriate controls where hazards or potential hazards exist.

* Facilitate meetings and report on divisional and site health and safety performance, EHS issues, regulatory compliance, and personnel training.

* Ensure that environmental permits are maintained and kept up to date.

* Up to 50% travel requirement (approximately) * Must live near a major airport.

Education: * Bachelor's degree in a related field (Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene) or in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, candidate must hold an Associate's degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing environmental, health and safety management.

Experience: * 4-6 years of experience in general industry Environmental, Health and Safety management * Prior experience and working knowledge of worker compensation, OSHA, NFPA, NEC and EPA regulations.

* Strong understanding of insurance/risk management, learning technology, and employee training and development * Prior experience with Lean Sigma and Kaizen preferred.

* Ability to lead and influence.

* Possess strong written & verbal communication skills.

* Strong organizational skills * Possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams) * Prior experience with resolution conflict, be solutions-oriented, and work effectively across the organization and with all levels of employee.
