About Us:

Our Engineering Standards group is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our company’s engineering standards, piping and valve specifications, standard drawings, project go-by packages, engineering procedures, and guidelines. We collaborate with numerous technical Subject Matter Experts across various disciplines to deliver safe, industry-standard, and cost-effective solutions for our projects. Our team provides access to custom-developed applications including the Standards Portal Site, Standards Selection Tool, Valve Specification Database, Piping Specification Database, and Waiver Application. We also perform quality system evaluations for manufacturers aiming to be added to our Approved Manufacturers’ List (AML) and assist project teams with standards selection and interpretation of industry codes and standards.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Standards & Specifications Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain pipe and valve specifications for pipeline, refinery, power plant, and chemical plant construction. This role involves evaluating standards to ensure safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, consistent with industry standards and our company’s risk tolerance.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain specifications for pipeline, refinery, power plant, and chemical plant construction.

Evaluate standards and specifications to ensure safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Collaborate with internal and industry experts to develop high-quality standards.

Provide technical support and guidance to project managers, operations, maintenance, field engineering, and other stakeholders.

Assist with standards interpretations, standards selection, application of codes, project-specific specifications, and standards waivers.

Support Supply Chain Management by reviewing and analyzing manufacturer and supplier quality management systems and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related science (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in refining, chemical processing, pipeline, or related industries.

Understanding of plant piping design, codes, and specifications.

Knowledge of valves used in pipeline, processing, chemical, and refinery operations.

Familiarity with industry standards (API, ASME, ASTM, ISA, etc.).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Available for occasional travel.
