Job description

The Solar PV Field Service Technician will provide diagnostic, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance services to installed solar systems. The ideal candidate has experience and understanding in the design and installation of solar PV systems, as well as, knowledge of system monitoring and inverter configuration and maintenance.

MUST HAVES:

Must live in Texas

Must have non-expired Texas TDLR Journeyman (or above) license

Must have valid driver's license with clean driving record & be insurable

Must be willing to travel anywhere in the State of Texas to service commercial and utility-scale solar + occasionally to some of the out-of-state job sites.

OTHER:

Should have OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (or be willing to acquire within 30 days of employment.)

Should have NFPA 70E Arc Flash certification (or be willing to acquire within 30 days of employment.)

Understand & adhere to proper LOTO procedures

Should be comfortable with a computer and be willing to complete safety documentation and service reports.

Should have experience servicing solar equipment.

Familiarity with major inverter brands & preferably manufacturer certifications (if not, be willing to acquire them.)

Experience with electronics, IT, comms and networking is helpful.

Be available, as needed, for other types of solar work within the company if needed in a pinch.

Be a team player, good communicator and "own" your work.

Job Type: Full-time, W2.

Salary: $15.00 - $33.00 per hour – to start. Those with experience can earn more to start. Eligible for a raise after 90 days. You will get paid every Friday via direct deposit into your bank account.

Experience:

Electrical experience: 3 years (Required)

Solar: 1 year (Required)

Language: English (Required)

License/Certification: Driver's License (Required)

Work Location: Commercial jobsites located through Texas and some nearby states

Work Remotely: No, this work requires you to be at the jobsite in person.

Environmental & Physical Requirements:

Constantly moves throughout jobsite areas, on all kinds of terrain, to complete daily tasks.

Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Requires lifting to 50 pounds while bending, twisting and/or standing.

Frequently carries, lifts, or transports tools, instruments, and/or objects.

Typically bends, stoops and crouches on a regular basis.

Consistently uses stairs and ladders.

Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.

Works in all weather conditions, regardless of job location.
