Kaizen is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) for the USAID/West Bank and Gaza (WBG) Trade, Investment and Finance (TIF) Activity which aims to increase trade, exports, and GDP and position the Palestinian economy in the West Bank and Gaza for growth. TIF’s primary focus areas include expanding markets for Palestinian products, ensuring compliance with international standards, and supporting policy reforms. TIF aims to attract both local and foreign direct investments to the WBG. Furthermore, through targeted interventions in the financial services sector, TIF will seek cost-effective ways to enhance access to finance and financial services, ultimately contributing to achieving financial inclusion in the WBG. TIF will be a five years $45 million activity based in the West Bank.

Responsibilities

The DCOP provides support to the COP in managing the project team, overall implementation, results, and management. The DCOP provides project operational and implementation oversight. The DCOP must have technical knowledge in private sector development and strong technical credentials in project management and must fill in for the COP in his/her absence.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in economics, business, trade, finance, or another relevant field.

Ten (10) years of international experience in managing private sector engagement in a developing country.

Five (5) years of experience in a supervisory role managing economic growth projects in developing countries.

Demonstrated familiarity with USAID FAR, ADS, and other operational guidance including human resources, financial management, financial reporting, and procurement processes, systems, and grants management.

Proven experience leading start-up/close-out and procurement for USAID-funded programs operating in conflict/post-conflict environment.

Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with senior U.S. and foreign government officials.

Fluent oral and written English is required.Preferred

Master’s degree in a relevant field.

Experience working in the Middle East on economic growth activities.

Fluency in oral and written Arabic.
