Software Developer

An independent brokerage firm is looking for a Software Developer to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in software development and a deep understanding of the commodities trading/brokerage industry. Working collaboratively, the new team member will contribute significantly to the business by developing high-quality, user-focused software solutions that align with both user requirements and strategic business objectives.

Salary + Additional Benefits:

$120,000-$130,000 + Bonus

100% Company Paid Medical Premiums

Location: Houston, TX

Type of Position: Direct Hire

Requirements:

Undergraduate college degree in computer science or related field required; graduate degree preferred

8+ years professional work experience with at least 2+ years in Financial Services industry

Commodities trading/brokerage industry is a plus

Strong knowledge of enterprise Java using JBoss Application Server

Strong knowledge of Hibernate/Java Persistence API

Strong knowledge of Java Message Service (JMS)

Strong knowledge of SQL with experience in relational databases, preferably in MySQL

Experience on implementation of FIX Protocol is a plus

Experience with source code control system like SVN

Experience with build tools like Ant and Maven

Good working knowledge of deploying and troubleshooting software on a Linux operating system

Cloud knowledge/experience is a plus

Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with business users (Broker, Traders etc.)

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
