Orthopedic Technician - Jewett Orthopedic Institute, St. Cloud

Position Summary:

Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute is one of the region’s largest orthopedic and sports medicine practices, providing comprehensive care for more than 250,000 patients each year. This August, the institute will open Florida’s first dedicated orthopedic hospital, featuring 75 private inpatient rooms, 10 operating suites with four virtually connected suites that can be used to train surgeons around the world, and a state-of-the-art research and innovation center with a 10-station bio skills lab and 3D printer.

In March, a new medical pavilion opened adjacent to the hospital and houses outpatient clinics, an imaging suite, physical therapy spaces and the largest orthopedic ambulatory surgery center in Florida. Jewett Orthopedic Institute is hiring for a Orthopedic Technician!

Position Summary

The Orthopedic Technician orders assembles and applies different types of casts and various braces according to the Physicians orders.

Status: Full-time position

Shift: Day

Title: Orthopedic Technician

Location: Jewett Orthopedic Institute - St. Cloud (Osceola)

Responsibilities:

Assists with transport of patients.

Performs any variation of the job that is directly related to the function of an orthopedic technician.

Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Assists the orthopedic surgeons requested.

Participates in Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Indicator (QI) as assigned.

Performs patient rounds, charting, charging, regular cleaning of equipment and in-service education that is directly related to the orthopedic technician service.

Qualifications:

Education/Training

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Licensure/Certification

Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
