This Job:

Title: Financial Business Intelligence Analyst

The Data Insights Analyst will be a member of the Data Insights team and work closely with the Accounting and Finance teams to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions, as well as provide the financial departments with information necessary for compliance and regulatory requirements. The Analyst is responsible for providing accurate, congruent, and reliable data in an easily consumable format, and where applicable, developing automation logic using graphical programming software to automate system and data integration processes and back-end business workflow processes. He/she will work with the Data Insights team to help develop, implement and maintain the corporate data catalog, with a specific emphasis on financial data, as well as educate key members of the organization on best practices in analyzing the data. Finally, the Analyst will design and document dashboard, alerts and reports significant to the Accounting and Finance functions.

What You’ll Do:

Communicate effectively with stakeholders to review business requirements and propose solutions.

Maintain data integrity and ongoing quality of delivered solutions.

Analyze, design, and build solutions using Tableau, Cognos, and other data visualization tools.

Support ad hoc reporting as necessary.

Identify data quality issues and work with the appropriate teams for resolution.

Create relationational and dimensional models.

What You’ll Need to be a Top Candidate:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other related field.

Experience: 3-5 years’ of data analysis or business intelligence experience required. Experience must include supporting an Accounting or Finance team from a business intelligence prospective, or a combination of experience in an Accounting or Finance role and a business intelligence role will be reviewed. The ideal candidate will also have experience in the property and casualty insurance industry due to the highly regulated financial environment.

Knowledge & Skills:

Expertise in Accounting and Finance processes and reporting requirements.

Intermediate to advanced expertise with Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Cognos, Power BI and/or R/Python required.

Relational database concepts.

Designing and delivering cross-functional custom reporting solutions.

Strong knowledge of SQL (T-SQL).

Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Analytical mind, critical thinker, and problem-solver.

Strong ability to interact, communicate, present and influence within multiple levels of the organization.

Must be comfortable working with minimal direction.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize workload.

A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations.

Ability to take initiative and approach all tasks and projects proactively.

Proven experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Your Environment:

Schedule: 8:30am -5:30pm, M-F. #LI-Onsite

Working Conditions: Normal business office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of time while constantly operating a computer and or other office productivity machinery such as a calculator or telephone. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery or communicate with coworkers.

Travel:Minimum, as required.
