Scheduling Specialist PAS

We’re looking for a qualified Scheduling Specialist like you to join our Texas Health family.

Position Highlights

• Work location: Texas Health Harris Tower 701 6th Avenue Fort Worth TX 76104

• Work hours: PRN (as needed)

Schedules testing and/or procedures for multiple departments in an accurate and timely manner ensuring maximum productivity and expedient patient flow. 40%

Performs Medessary checks of medical necessity for patients with Medicare as a primary payor to ensure documentation is in compliance with applicable guidelines. 20%

Effectively communicates with patients, physician office scheduling, surgery scheduling, and/or other necessary staff as needed to reduce appointment time/date errors. 20%

Stays abreast of and complies with applicable regulations, entity and/or system policies and procedures. Maintains customer service and/or productivity guidelines set forth by applicable leadership. 15%

Participates in special projects or completes other duties as assigned. 5% Education

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Req

Experience

1 Year Healthcare experience including customer relations Req and

2 Years Professional office/healthcare experience Pref and

1 Year Medical terminology or certification Pref and

6 Months Call center experience Pref

Licenses and Certifications

CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate Upon Hire Pref

Skills

Ability to promptly assess requests by using electronic and paper resource materials and correctly respond to patient inquiries.

Excellent data entry, numeric, typing and computer navigational skills, with attention to details.

Proficient computer skills, medical terminology, Epic, Microsoft Office and assorted software programs.

Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a highly stressful and emotional environment, to include crime, behavioral health and suffering patients in addition to life or death situations.

Must be able to exhibit a high level of empathy with the ability to effectively communicate with patients and family members during traumatic events, while demonstrating exceptional customer service skills

Demonstrates ability to manage multiple, changing priorities in an effective and organized manner and appropriately escalating concerns to leadership.

Requires exceptional listening, interpersonal and communication skills, and professional, pleasant and respectful telephone etiquette
