Highland Family Medicine is seeking FNP Residents for its 2025 class. Candidates for this role would work a 1-year FNP residency with our Highland Family Medicine team. This cohort will begin their residencies the firs week of January 2025 and will run through December 31, 2025. Chance to stay on as a permanent FNP after residency is a possibility.

For considerations, applicants will need to provide the following:

Curriculum vitae/resume including a description of past experiences (If you submitted this already, you do not need to do it again.)

Official graduate school transcripts

A personal statement, including future professional goals

Three letters of recommendation submitted to

Ideally would contain: 1 academic, 1 professional, and 1 other of applicant’s choosing.

Urban Track at HFM

Estimated start 1/1/25; End date 12/31/25

4 weeks of total time off including vacation and conferences.

Practice call starts about 4 months into the program and runs over a 6-month duration of the residency.

Travel:

Urban Track Residents will be expected to travel 5 days throughout their residency year, typically to our rural health partner at TCFM in Dansville or Canaseraga, NY

Most specialty rotations are in Rochester; however, travel to Brockport or Canandaigua may also be required.

Travel reimbursement is not available for the Urban Track.

Some duties include but are not limited to:

NP resident provides direct patient care to patients throughout the lifespan during precepted continuity clinics. Provides care according to professional Nurse Practitioner and community standards for advanced clinical practice utilizing clinical practice and Family Medicine guidelines, protocols, and procedures. Patient care guided by state and federal laws, DEA regulations, and the New York State Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act.

Participates in structured post-graduate residency training sessions to include rotations through specialty clinics, weekly formal learning sessions on a variety of complex clinical challenges, chronic

disease management, inter-professional projects focused on population health, didactic training in leadership, and participation in team quality improvement (QI) cycles to improve health system processes.

Salary Range:

$75,000.00 annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements

1). Education: Fulfills the educational requirements to be a licensed FNP

2). Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a registered nurse prior to completing a Master’s program is desired.

3). License/Certification Required: Meets the requirement to be a licensed nurse practitioner in the State of New York for specialty practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner with full prescriptive privileges. Active registration by the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency to prescribe Category II through V drugs. National certification in Family Practice preferred from a national organization, such as, but not limited to, the American Nurses Credentialing Center of the American Nurses Association or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Must be BLS certified.
