Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager – Revenue, the Senior Revenue Accountant will support the revenue accounting team by performing key accounting duties that ensures accurate and timely accounting and reporting for the Lifetouch (Yearbook) and Shutterfly Business Solutions (SBS) business units. Specific duties include completing month-end journal entries and account reconciliations, maintaining customer accounts, and providing accounting support to management and other partners including internal and external audit processes. For the SBS business unit, this role is responsible for maintaining accurate and current customer accounts through monthly invoicing and cash application while working collaboratively with customers to resolve any discrepancies on invoices and ensure timely cash collections.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare and record monthly journal entries for revenue accruals and deferred revenue in SAP

Complete monthly bad debt reserve calculation and record reserve adjustments in SAP

Prepare account reconciliations monthly in Blackline for related balance sheet accounts identifying and resolving variances on a timely basis

Review consolidated balance sheet for related accounts and provide comments explaining significant account balance changes during month-end close

Reconcile individual customer balances and complete monthly AR aging report for Client Services team

Prepare invoices for SBS customers on a monthly basis including uploading invoices into SAP Ariba customer portal

Complete cash applications for SBS customers in SAP customer module

Assist in processing SBS invoices through AR factoring program and updating reports for Treasury team

Provide support as needed for internal and external audits

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Performs other projects or miscellaneous duties as requested or assigned, including support of other business units as well as new revenue initiatives implemented

Assist in ongoing system testing and monitoring

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent related experience

CPA required

Experience

3-5 or more years of experience in Accounting/Finance

Experience successfully performing month-end closing process is preferred

Other (knowledge, skills, and abilities):

Proficient in MS Office with an intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Excel

Proficient with ERP Accounting software

Must have strong analytical and organizational skills

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Must be proactive and able to work independently
